iPhone X review: Should you still buy Apple's old flagship phone in 2019?

iPhone X isn't sold by Apple anymore, however it can still be bought from other sites at often reduced prices. It has also just received the iOS 13 update.

Stunning screen;Much-improved telephoto camera; The best-looking iPhone ever;Impressive battery life;Face ID is so much better than a fingerprint sensor

Software needs more optimisation for the taller display and notch; No fast-charging plug included;Very expensive

Apple iPhone X review

The iPhone X is the iPhone to buy this year.

Jawdropping OLED screen ; Unsurpassed speed ; Top-tier camera ; Innovative industrial design ; Wireless charging

Awkward notch can break immersion ; Expensive

The iPhone X is the iPhone to buy this year. Even from our initial impressions, we’re certain it’s well worth the high price tag, and early adopters are going to love it.

Apple iPhone X review: Embrace the new normal

The iPhone X is the most radical change to the iPhone formula ever, and despite some concerns, Apple has built a seriously impressive machine. We love its build quality and comfortable design, not to mention its expansive screen and great performance....

Impeccable build quality ; Face ID generally works well ; Great performance ; Good main cameras get even better

The lack of a home button takes some getting used to ; Not all apps use the whole screen ; Portrait selfies are hit-or-miss ; Battery life could be better

At the end of the day, here's what you've got to remember: this isn't just an expensive, ambitious offshoot of the classic iPhone lineage. It's the future of the iPhone itself. And to be clear, Apple didn't get absolutely everything right. The notch is...

iPhone X: Still the best iPhone, but its successor is expected soon

The iPhone X is still king of the Apple smartphone hill. But 7 months after its release, it's time to look towards its inevitable iOS 12-powered replacement.

The iPhone X delivers a great blend of handheld comfort and a big, gorgeous 5.8-inch OLED screen. The rear-facing telephoto camera outshoots the iPhone 8 Plus in low light, and the front-facing camera snaps impressive portrait mode selfies. Face ID...

The iPhone X is nearly certain to be replaced by a newer, better model in less than 3 months, but remains hella expensive in the meantime. The all-glass body means a case and an insurance plan are musts. Shorter battery life than iPhone 8 Plus.

iPhone X remains a winning evolution of the iPhone, but at this point, you’re better off waiting for what Apple has on deck in September.

Apple iPhone X review

I came home late from my first day of testing the iPhone X. My wife sent me audio clips over iMessage from the kids after I sent them pictures of myself, now beardless. "O-M-G. I can't even recognize Daddy!"

A great blend of handheld comfort and a big, gorgeous OLED screen. Rear telephoto camera outshoots the 8 Plus in low light, and the front camera snaps impressive portrait selfies. Face ID generally works fine.

New interface and no home button mean major adjustments, and key features such as the Control Center are harder to reach and use. It’ll take time for most apps to be optimized for notched screen. The phone is hella expensive, and the all-glass design...

iPhone X is an overdue and winning evolution of the iPhone, but you’ll need to leave your comfort zone to make a jump into the face-recognizing future.

Apple iPhone X review

Say goodbye to home buttons and bezels, the new iPhone X is the best Apple phone yet...

Fantastic screen ; Impressive audio ; Impeccable performance ; Attractive design & strong build ; Great battery life

No headphone jack ; FaceID not perfect

The Apple iPhone X makes major changes that not everyone will like, but the stunning screen more than makes up the difference

Apple iPhone X

The iPhone X sets the stage for Apple's next decade, with a sharp new design and a future focus on augmented reality.

Updated design. Powerful processor. Excellent screen. First-of-its-kind augmented reality front camera. Animoji are really fun.

Very expensive. Apps need to be reprogrammed to take advantage of display. Not the fastest modem.

Bottom Line: The iPhone X sets the stage for Apple's next decade, with a sharp new design and a future focus on augmented reality.

iPhone X review: the best you can get

You were worried? So were we, but it's OK because, well, the iPhone X is brilliant

Desirable design ; Face ID is ace ; Excellent cameras

So expensive ; Side button controls annoy ; Notch means some app quirks

Review: iPhone X

This is not the future of smartphone tech. But the iPhone X is still really, really nice.

Gorgeous design. Face ID is a great idea, mostly well executed. Lots of cameras, all of them excellent. It's faster and smoother than whatever phone you're using now.

A grand is a lot to spend on a phone. Apple's love of simplicity sometimes makes everything more complicated. Goodbye, stealthy phone-checking.
