Google Home Hub Review | Trusted Reviews

Google Home Hub review: Powerful integration with Google's services, refined smart home controls combine and a low price make this the smart speaker to beat

Easy to converse with ; Touchscreen displays extra information ; Dedicated smart home controls ; Integrated YouTube

Doesn't like G Suite accounts ; Can't play Netflix ; No webcam

Powerful, flexible and brilliantly using the screen to deliver more results, the Google Home Hub pulls in the full power of Google's services, but this isn't the best display for video and music.

Google Home Hub review: A more personal smart display

Google's Home Hub is unlike most other smart displays on the market. With its small size and soft fabric exterior, the Home Hub is well-suited for nearly every room in your house. The notable absence of a camera helps alleviate privacy concerns, which...

No camera ; Beautiful display ; Simple minimalist design ; Affordable compared to the competition

Might be too small for some ; Sound quality is just OK

Google Home Hub

The small, affordable Google Assistant-powered Home Hub smart display is functional and convenient, but won't impress anyone with its sound quality.

Relatively inexpensive. Small footprint. Useful touch screen.

Weak audio. No camera for video calls.

Bottom Line: The small, affordable Google Assistant-powered Home Hub smart display is functional and convenient, but won't impress anyone with its sound quality.

Google Home Hub review: Google Assistant helps this tiny screen feel powerful

Google's smart display is dwarfed by the Amazon Echo Show in size, but not in features.

The Google Home Hub's touchscreen is responsive and works well in combination with Google Assistant, whether you ask for help on a recipe or to check what's on your calendar. Pictures and videos look particularly crisp thanks to an ambient light sensor...

The sound quality is fine for background music, but nowhere near the level of other smart displays like the Amazon Echo Show or the JBL Link View. It's more on par with the diminutive Google Home Mini. The integration with the Nest Hello Video Doorbell...

The cameraless, petite Google Home Hub will blend into any room in your home. It's affordable, and quite useful as a digital assistant (especially in the kitchen), a photo frame and a smart home control panel.

Google Home Hub review: the best digital photo frame

Google's latest Home device is the perfect digital photo frame for your Google Photos library.

Gorgeous display with automatic dimming and color adjustment ; Compact size that can be comfortably placed in many spots throughout the home ; Comprehensive smart home controls that can be accessed via voice or touch ; Google Photos integration makes...

Small display size might be a deterrent ; Speaker quality is weak ; Can’t stream Netflix ; Have to say “Google” every time you want to talk to the thing

That alone is enough to make the Home Hub a permanent fixture in my home and probably in the homes of many other parents and grandparents.

Google Home Hub review: The new hub of your smart home?

Great design and display ; Fantastic smart home control ; Adequate sound quality ; Excellent as a digital photo display ; YouTube integration ; Excellent price

No Zigbee support built-in ; Google Home app could be a little more intuitive

If you've got compatible smart home products installed, the Google Home Hub is totally worth its cover price – and absent of any unwanted video calls/privacy issues. But if you're already invested in Amazon then it might not make sense for you....

Google Home Hub review

Compact, stylish and good value for money

Compact design ; Fantastic screen ; High value price point

No camera for video calls ; Limited number of apps at launch ; Lacks oomph in the bass

Google’s first screen-based smart helper is not only great, it offers real value for money

The Google Home Hub is an experiment that pays off.

Sharp display ; Works well as a digital photo frame

Small display ; Limited video playback

Google Home Hub Review: A friendlier smart display

The Google Home Hub is a big idea in a compact package. Bucking the trend of larger and larger smart displays, this latest container for the varied talents of the Google Assistant occupies a smaller footprint than most of its rivals demand. The size -...

Cute style makes for a less-threatening smart display ; Google Assistant is as capable as ever ; Smart home controls are easily laid-out and convenient ; Aggressively priced ; No camera should please privacy fans

Speaker isn't the best for music playback ; Absence of a camera may frustrate some
