Google Nest Hub review: A refreshing take on the smart display

Google's Nest Hub has other ideas, and though it's tiny, it has some powerful features that make it mighty under the hood. In a way, its simple approach is a refreshing take on the smart display — but it also feels watered down. Worth pointing out,...

Easy smart home control No camera on device Small size means it can be placed anywhere Doubles as a digital photo frame Affordable

No camera means no video chatting Poor sound quality Screen is too small for media consumption

There’s a lot to like about the Google Nest Hub. We appreciate the focus on smart home control, the pull-down control panel, and the digital photo frame capabilities. We also appreciate the lack of a camera for those concerned about privacy. We came...

Google Home Hub review: Powerful integration with Google's services, refined smart home controls combine and a low price make this the smart speaker to beat

Easy to converse with ; Touchscreen displays extra information ; Dedicated smart home controls ; Integrated YouTube

Doesn't like G Suite accounts ; Can't play Netflix ; No webcam

Powerful, flexible and brilliantly using the screen to deliver more results, the Google Home Hub pulls in the full power of Google's services, but this isn't the best display for video and music.

Google Home Hub review: A more personal smart display

Google's Home Hub is unlike most other smart displays on the market. With its small size and soft fabric exterior, the Home Hub is well-suited for nearly every room in your house. The notable absence of a camera helps alleviate privacy concerns, which...

No camera ; Beautiful display ; Simple minimalist design ; Affordable compared to the competition

Might be too small for some ; Sound quality is just OK

Google Home Hub review: the next step in Google's evolving smart home

The Home Hub – now the Nest Hub – adds a screen to the standard smart speaker formula

Google's smart display is dwarfed by the Amazon Echo Show in size, but not in features, thanks to Google Assistant and a steady beat of updates.

Google's smart display is dwarfed by the Amazon Echo Show in size, but not in features, thanks to Google Assistant and a steady beat of updates.

The Google Nest Hub's touchscreen is responsive and works well in combination with Google Assistant, whether you ask for help on a recipe or check what's on your calendar. Pictures and videos look particularly crisp thanks to an ambient light sensor...

The sound quality is fine for background music, but nowhere near the level of other smart displays like the Amazon Echo Show or the JBL Link View. It's more on par with the diminutive Google Home Mini.

The cameraless, petite Google Nest Hub will blend into any room in your home. It's affordable, and quite useful as a digital assistant (especially in the kitchen), a photo frame and a smart-home control panel.

Google Home Hub review

Google's smart home offering, called Google Home, arrived later than the popular Amazon Echo range of connected home products. But, in our opinion, they're just as good.

Cheaper than Echo Show Google Photos integration Innovative Home View UI Music on-demand

Smaller screen Limited video calling Weak audio

If you’re more interested in controlling your smart devices than you are watching movies or making video calls, the Google Home Hub makes a compelling claim to be the center of your smart home.

The Google Home Hub hits $58.99

Another week brings another price drop -- but will it go even lower?

Google Nest Hub

The small, affordable Google Assistant-powered Nest Hub smart display is functional and convenient, but won't impress anyone with its sound quality.

Relatively inexpensive. Small footprint. Useful touch screen.

Weak audio. No camera for video calls.

Bottom Line: The small, affordable Google Assistant-powered Nest Hub smart display is functional and convenient, but won't impress anyone with its sound quality.

Unbelievable Google Nest Hub, Home Mini and GE Smart Bulb bundle: $99

Woot! That's less than the price of the Hub all by itself! Plus: Deals on the Apple Watch Series 4 and WD's 3TB portable hard drive.
