Google Pixel 3 review: Camera king | Trusted Reviews

Google Pixel 3 revuew, price, specs, features and release date: Google's latest flagship is once again focussing on the camera.

Great haptics ; Google’s Android is the best Android ; Much-improved design ; Breathtaking camera both on the front and back ; Fast wireless charging and clever Pixel Stand (even if it’s not included)

No form of facial unlocking ; Can scratch easily

The Google Pixel 3 not only has the best camera I have ever used on a phone, but it has a lovely design and a handful of great features too.

Pixel 3 and 3 XL review: Google’s hardware takes a backseat to software

The Pixel 3 XL would be a superb big-screen phone if its notch weren't so polarizing. If you don't like the fact that this notch is bigger than rival phones and don't want to use the software fix to mask it, the Pixel 3 XL isn't for you. But if you can...

Brilliant display ; Powerful cameras ; Premium build ; Capable performance ; Clever Assistant features ; Cheaper than the competition

Not all software ready at launch

With the Pixel 3 and 3 XL, it doesn't feel like Google has made great leaps on hardware, nor is it making as big a splash as it did with last year's cameras. But it's definitely built a solid foundation for its software to shine on.

Pixel 3 review: The best Android phone of 2018

The Pixel 3's camera already makes it a standout -- but useful Google software elevates the phone even more.

The Pixel 3 takes brilliant photos, even in super low-light, with its single rear lens and it can capture wider selfie photos. It's water resistant, has wireless charging and it can screen unwanted calls.

The phone doesn't have expandable memory or a headphone jack. The shot-to-shot camera delay can be sluggish in certain modes.

The Pixel 3's truly exceptional cameras and AI-powered call screening give it an edge on the other great phones in 2018's crowded winners' circle.

Google Pixel 3 XL review: Google's latest flagship excels at photos and software

Is this the best Android phone money can buy? We're about to tell you

Google aces the camera again ; Screen is big and beautiful ; Pixel Android and speedy updates

Did you notice that notch? ; Battery life is unspectacular ; No in-screen fingerprint reader

Google Pixel 3

The Google Pixel 3 is the best small Android phone you can buy with the latest specs, impressive camera capabilities, and genuinely innovative AI features.

Compact. Fast performance. Beautiful OLED screen. Sharp front and rear camera with impressive low-light, zoom, and bokeh capabilities. Useful Google Assistant functionality. Highly optimized software with guaranteed updates.

No headphone jack or memory card slot.

The Google Pixel 3 has fast performance, excellent camera capabilities, and useful AI functionality that goes beyond what we're seeing in other Android flagships. It's $100 less than the larger Pixel 3 XL, doesn't have the distracting screen notch, and...

Google Pixel 3 XL review: Winning the game by rewriting the rules

Whether the Google Pixel 3 XL is the best Android phone is up for debate, but it's the most advanced Pixel ever, and that's what matters.

Incredibly fast and responsive. ; AI calling features are simply mind-blowing. ; The camera takes incredible pics even with lackluster hardware. ; Display is fantastic and a massive improvement over the 2 XL.

The notch is distracting and the design is bland. ; Camera could be even better with a dual lens. ; Battery life is just OK.

You need to ask yourself three questions before deciding to spend $899 or $999 on a the Pixel 3 XL:

Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL review: the best camera gets a better phone

Taking it up a notch

Radically improved screen ; Loud, clear front-facing speakers ; Excellent camera and wide angle selfie cam

Doofy notch ; Easily scratched rear finish ; Limited availability from US carriers and internationally

But if you want the best Android experience and the best camera you can get on a phone today, the Pixel 3 is it.

Google Pixel 3 XL review

Incremental advances towards Android dreams

Android as Google intended ; Natural-looking camera processing ; Fab selfies

Giganto-notch is distracting ; Camera beaten by rivals in some situations

It’s not a dramatic revolution but the latest Pixel is still one of the best Androids, and a great Android 9 showcase

Google Pixel 3 XL review

The best camera, but the biggest notch

Best camera phone we’ve tested ; Problem-free 6.3-inch OLED display ; Solid battery life vs smaller Pixel 3

The notch cut out is hard to ignore ; Not one-hand friendly as Pixel 3 ; More expensive, like all 2018 phones

The Google Pixel 3 XL is the best big-screened camera phone you can buy today, one that’s able to capture stunning photos that your friends won’t believe came from a smartphone. You’ll have to be okay with its prominent notch cut out at the top of the...

Google Pixel 3 review

The best camera phone yet

Google's great camera got better ; Much improved 5.5-inch OLED screen ; Great one-hand-friendly size

Weaker battery life on the small phone ; Rather muted colors this year ; 4GB of RAM when others do 6GB

The Google Pixel 3 has the best smartphone camera you can buy today. Don’t let the raw specs fool you: its very ordinary sounding single 12.2MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture is enhanced by machine-learning software, Google’s secret sauce to making...
