LG V40 ThinQ

The LG V40 ThinQ has a sharp 6.4-inch OLED screen, impressive audio capabilities, and a total of five cameras for a first-class multimedia experience.

Sharp OLED screen. Relatively compact design. Three rear cameras can simultaneously take pictures with three different angles. Dual front cameras for wide-angle selfies. Strong audio features.

Doesn't run the lastest version of Android. Non-remappable Google Assistant button.

The LG V40 ThinQ is a big, powerful phone that takes innovations introduced with the G7 and improves upon them. The addition of a third telephoto lens, the ability to take shots from every camera angle, and the richer OLED display all help justify its...

LG V40 review: The V stands for Victory (and Very expensive)

After a string of disappointing handsets, LG has finally released a phone you might actually want to buy. But probably not at this price.

Immersive 6.4-inch OLED screen provides rich, vibrant images ; Excellent performance, battery life, and design ; Camera takes great pictures and is just plain fun to use

No sign of Android 9. ; $900 price tag is just too high

Price unseen, the V40 is one of the best phones of the year from LG or anyone else. However, it comes in the midst of a month of increasingly stiff competition, and there's a good change that the V40 will be once again left on shelves as people opt for...

LG V40 ThinQ review: one phone, five cameras

The V40 gives you a camera bag full of lenses in one device

Versatile camera system ; Fast performance ; Reliably strong battery life

All-glass design scratches easily ; Cameras aren’t as high-quality as competitors ; LG is still slow with software updates

So often, what makes a camera special or useful is how much enjoyment you get out of using it. And the V40’s camera is fun as hell, even if it isn’t perfect.

LG V40 ThinQ review

Five cameras for fun, not for serious shots

Five cameras for new perspectives ; Fun still and video camera modes ; Light, yet reassuringly solid design

Camera isn’t always the best ; More expensive than it should be ; Weaker-than-necessary battery

The LG V40 puts photography first with five cameras on a single Android phone, and that gives you varying shot perspectives, whether you’re taking a wide group selfie or rear-facing telephoto masterpiece. You’ll love seeing the camera modes and various...

LG V40 ThinQ Review: Unique in colorful quality

The LG V40 ThinQ is a unique smartphone because of its multiple alternate trajectories in smartphone trends. This is a phone that amps up everything I loved about the LG V35 (my favorite phone of 2018) . Instead of running with the trends of one...

Display is colorful, sharp, and brilliant ; Phone backside has a premium, unique quality ; Camera options are plentiful and helpful ; Audio quality is top quality with built-in DAC ; Notch can be hidden correctly*

Notch in display (though software options are good!) ; Speakers down-facing instead of forward-facing ; Phone case not included in box ; Camera placement a bit awkward

LG V40 ThinQ Review

The LG V40 camera system introduces an unprecedented combined range of 16-52 mm that makes it the most flexible mobile camera to date

Exceptional Camera Flexibility ; Huge OLED Display ; Great Performance

Battery could be larger

The LG V40 is a savvy Note 9 rival with 5 versatile cameras

Though cheaper than the Note 9, the LG V40 comes with five -- yes, five -- cameras.

The LG V40's five cameras give you a variety of photography options. The phone has a 6.4-inch screen, but is still comfortable to hold. It's water resistant, has expandable memory and a headphone jack.

The LG V40's slew of photo and camera tools can be overwhelming to navigate for a casual photographer. Its battery life is average.

The LG V40 ThinQ is one of the best phones of 2018, but the Pixel 3 XL has the better grab-and-go camera and battery life.

LG V40 ThinQ Review

Selling for between $900 and $980, depending on the carrier, the V40 ThinQ is again competing with the best in the smartphone market. So, can this triple-camera phone execute well enough to push LG over the hump and solidify the V40 ThinQ as one of the...

A camera for every occasion and solid performance to match ; Capable of recording HDR10 4K video ; Solid build, sleek looks

Camera performance lags behind top-tier competition ; Triple Shot can’t utilize HDR and often lets motion into the shot(s) ; Battery life could have been better ; Expensive
