Microsoft Surface Studio review

Need it or not, you're going to want Microsoft's Surface Studio.

Beautiful design ; Simple, intuitive hinge ; The best PC touchscreen, ever ; Respectable performance, for an all-in-one ; Solid bundled peripherals

Extremely slow hard drive ; Last-generation graphics hardware ; Dial is a $100 add-on, of questionable use

Falling in love with the Studio is easy, and it happens at first glance. The beautiful display, elegant design, and featherweight hinge make for instant appeal.

Microsoft's Surface Studio proves desktops can still be cool

The Surface Studio is exactly the sort of twist on desktops you'd expect from Microsoft. It's fast and sports a gorgeous screen, but most importantly its screen-bending gimmick is actually useful. Just be prepared to spend a lot for the privilege of...

Powerful for most creative tasks ; Gorgeous display ; Screen tilting function is genuinely useful ; Responsive stylus ; Dial has the potential to be very useful

Limited to mobile graphics ; Expensive for the hardware you get ; No upgradeability

The Surface Studio is both familiar and new. It empowers us to work the way we always have, while also giving us entirely new modes of productivity. Personally, that's a philosophy I can get behind -- especially when you contrast it with Apple's habit...

Microsoft Surface Studio review: Creativity is a sublime, pricey experience

Microsoft's Surface Studio is a category-defining product whose gorgeous display and clever Surface Dial change the way we use PCs—for a lofty price.

A simply gorgeous 4.5K touchscreen ; Microsoft's optional Surface Dial significantly improves the experience ; Eliminates separate drawing tablet by letting you ink on the display

Placing all expansion ports on the rear of the base is inconvenient ; Massive display reflects quite a bit of light ; A premium experience with a premium price attached

The Surface Dial is the Surface Studio's most innovative accessory. Some Mac users might consider it Microsoft’s $100 version of the control knob, an accessory which debuted about four years ago as a wired controller for the Mac. (Griffin has anytime...

Microsoft Surface Studio

The Microsoft Surface Studio is a gorgeous desktop PC and a capable digital creation tool in a single package. It brings innovation to a relatively stagnant space and provides an elegant solution to multi-product work for artists and designers.

Stunning design. Elegant all-in-one digital creation solution. Fast performance. Super-thin display with fantastic image quality. Responsive, accurate touch screen for art and design work.

Doesn't use the latest components. Lacks expandability options.

You might want to wait for version 2.0 with newer parts if you're concerned about performance. But I can assure you that in its current form, the Microsoft Surface Studio is a joy to use and work on. It's a beautiful, innovative marriage of form and...

Microsoft Surface Studio review: a beautiful invader of Apple's base

The last desktop PC I owned was a 2009 iMac. I now use a laptop every day for work, connected up to two monitors and a keyboard and mouse. Desktop computing hasn't really changed for nearly 40...

Stunning display with 3:2 aspect ratio ; Thin and handsome industrial design ; Pen, touchscreen, and Dial support

Old CPU and GPU ; Can't use as a monitor ; Dial needs more apps and a better base

Touch, pen, and Dial all in one display

Microsoft Surface Studio review: a pricey desktop that can teach iMac a few good tricks

With a hinged 28-inch screen, stylus pen and a wireless control dial, the Surface Studio wants to be your all-in-one art department.

The Surface Studio has a fantastic 28-inch screen with excellent color, mounted on smooth hinges that fold down to an artist-friendly angle. The excellent Surface Pen stylus returns and the new Surface Dial shows promise. Every model has good-to-great...

Surface Studio is extremely expensive, and doesn't include the flashy Dial accessory by default. It skips newer graphics chips that support VR hardware. Support for the Dial is limited right now, and even compatible programs don't always use it in a...

Microsoft's ambitious love letter to creative professionals is the touchscreen iMac of your dreams -- albeit crazy expensive and running Windows.

Meet the sleek Surface Studio all-in-one, Microsoft's first-ever desktop PC

Microsoft's $2,999 Surface Studio all-in-one represents the company's first foray into traditional desktop PCs—and a direct rival to Apple's 5K iMac.

Powering that many pixels takes significant hardware , and the Surface Studio doesn’t disappoint. Microsoft’s all-in-one packs a quad-core Core i7 processor, a 2TB “Rapid Hybrid Drive,” an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M, and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM—a crucial...

Microsoft Surface Studio review

Perfect it ain't - but the mother of all Surfaces is still one of the most desirable objects we've seen in years

Glorious screen ; Flexible design makes it easy to use ; A true object of beauty

Not enough power for high-end gaming ; High price - and stingy approach to extras ; Some Windows 10 glitches

The Surface Studio's stunning design and sheer audacity help it overcome its flaws to stand out as one of 2017's most exciting new products

The Microsoft Surface Studio Review

Microsoft has only been in the PC system game for a few years now, but over the last couple of years they have made a lot of progress rather quickly. These days they have a solid foundation of products available, with the Surface Pro 4 being one of the...

The price on the Surface Studio is going to deter many people, but the Surface line seems to be more about offering a product that showcases the best of Windows 10, and Microsoft is leaving enough room for other manufacturers to come into the category...

Microsoft Surface Studio: A stunning all-in-one PC that doubles as a drafting table

Microsoft is taking a page out of Apple's playbook by catering to creators. If you get the Surface Studio for your home, there is a good chance you won't have any pens, paper, paint, or any other art supplies still around, because you won't need them....
