Samsung Galaxy S10e review

Samsung's Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus are joined with a new entry into the Galaxy S family -- the Galaxy S10e. It costs a little more than the original price of the Galaxy S9, but it's meant to be the more affordable phone compared to the rest of the...

Perfect 5.8-inch size ; Great display ; Smooth performance ; Fun camera ; Clean, easy-to-use software

Samsung Galaxy S10e Review: The best of the bunch?

The Samsung Galaxy S10e takes most of the headline features from its flashier siblings and offers them in a package that's easier on the wallet.

Near-identical feature set to the S10 ; Nice compact size ; Feature-packed ; Great display

Faster fast charging would have been nice ; Fingerprint sensor not great for lefties ; No lossless zoom might irk some ; Underwhelming battery life

Like the iPhone XR, the Galaxy S10e takes most of the headline features from its flashier siblings and offers them in a package that’s easier on the wallet. This isn’t a cheap phone – and it’s not trying to be – but neither is it an investment in the...

Samsung Galaxy S10e review: Smaller, but not lesser

The Galaxy S10 and S10+ set a high bar for this year's premium Android phones and, with the S10e, Samsung is trying to make sure more people benefit from its work. That's new territory for the company, and it paid off. The Galaxy S10e delivers the...

Affordable by S10 standards ; Excellent performance ; Great trio of cameras ; Much-improved software ; Great for one-handed use

Underwhelming battery life ; Questionable fingerprint sensor placement ; What is the point of Bixby?

The trend towards growing displays seems to be plateauing, but even in the current state of things, most phones are just too big for easy handling with one hand. This is why we always enjoy it when we come across the occasional competent compact...

Samsung Galaxy S10e review: Samsung's pocket superstar impresses in almost every way

Almost all the power of the bigger phones packed into a more compact package

Compact, stylish design ; Save yourself some money ; Packed with power

No optical zoom ; Still relatively expensive ; One UI has its quirks

Galaxy S10E: The best value Galaxy S10 is worth your money

This value-buy powerhouse does a lot right and very little wrong.

A dream come true for value shoppers who love small phones. The Galaxy S10E shares the S10's core camera and Snapdragon 855 chipset, so photos and speed are excellent. Battery life and wireless power sharing are also spot-on. Its fingerprint reader and...

Lefties and people with small hands may find the fingerprint reader placement a tad inconvenient. The indented shape makes taking screenshots feel odd.

The Galaxy S10E is a terrific value for a compact, powerhouse phone, although it can't beat the OnePlus 6T's $550 price.

Samsung Galaxy S10E review: short, not shortchanged

Samsung's smallest Galaxy, the S10E, proves that bigger isn't always better and that it may be time for other phone manufacturers to start making tinier flagship devices.

Better fingerprint sensor than bigger S10s ; Great size ; Most bang for your buck

Niche features like Bright Night and wide angle selfie not as good as Pixel’s ; Screen layout can be awkward and disproportionate ; Battery life could be better

If you’re looking for a good, small Android or one that isn’t uncomfortably close to a thousand bucks, this is a phone that I think most people will enjoy without sacrificing much in quality. Smaller and cheaper doesn’t have to mean worse, and I think...

Samsung Galaxy S10e

The Samsung Galaxy S10e has the best overall price, performance, and size for a flagship smartphone today.

Amazing screen color and clarity. Industry-leading processor and modem. Wide-angle camera. Headphone jack. Just the right size for most hands.

Low-light camera performance not as good as the Google Pixel 3. Fingerprint sensor could be more accurate.

I am biased. I prefer phones that actually fit in my hand, and if anything costs over $1,000, it better have a really good reason to do so. The Samsung Galaxy S10e has all of the key aspects of the S10 series: an amazing screen, a fast processor, a...

Samsung Galaxy S10e review: The one to buy?

The Galaxy S10e is the powerful, stripped back version of the S10. It's missing some features, but all the important ones are still there.

All the power and performance of the bigger models ; No curved screen edges is a good thing

Only dual camera versus S10's triple system ; Design is a bit toy-ish in some colours

On the whole, the Samsung Galaxy S10e is a powerful, palm-friendly smartphone that's ready to compete head-on with the iPhone XS and the Pixel 3. And in many ways it comes out on top.

Samsung Galaxy S10e review

The step-up flagship savvy Samsung fans have been waiting for?

Hardware just as beefy as the real thing ; Snappy fingerprint sensor faster than in-display S10 ; More compact dimensions handy for all hand sizes

Battery life only average ; Not really suited to southpaws ; S10 isn't significantly more cash

A fantastic phone that proves Samsung can deliver top-end features for less - but the price difference isn't so huge that you should forget the S10 exists
